Welcome to my world! My world, at least for the purposes of this blog, focuses on two of my passions — Birding and Photography. At present, much of my birding and photography is done at one of my favorite places in SW Washington, the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. I have been a volunteer there for over five years, ever since my retirement from school administration. Over those years I have helped initiate several of the programs that are now being offered there on a regular basis, such as the Ridgefield Refuge Photography Contest, The Discovery Trail, The Weekly Bird Sightings Webpage, etc. These programs and others will form the basis for this blog.
My goal for this blog is two-fold, one is to post a monthly “Ramblings” which for all intensive purposes is, as the name implies, “ramblings” about the refuge, the wildlife you can see there, different programs that are being offered there, other areas that I visit near and far, and my insights (for whatever they are worth) in regards to it all. I will continue to post, as I have done for the last four years, “Refuge Ramblings” in the Friends of the Refuge newsletter. My second goal is to post pictures I have taken, primarily from the refuge, but also from other places I have visited. These pictures will be for your visual enjoyment but, of course, if you would like any of them to own, you may twist my arm and we can talk about prices. Besides these two goals, I will, from time to time, incorporate photography and birding tidbits that I have picked up over the many years that I have been doing both.
So, again welcome to my world. My hope is that you will become a regular visitor and that you will find this blog informative and enjoyable. If you do, let me know. If you have comments and suggestions, I would like to know that also.

See you on my rambles,
